My name is Zack Dabby. I am currently a Senior at Freehold Boro High school. In 2025, I started Every Kick Counts, Footgolf to Support Programs for Players with Special Needs. In 2020, I started volunteering in a program called Challenger Sports. Challenger Sports is a program in which volunteers get paired up with a kid who has special needs. Together, the pair engage with peers, playing sports throughout the year, creating a bond between the two kids. It was through this program I met my friend, Jack. When I met Jack, he was a 6th grader at Howell North Middle School, and he has autism. Over these four years, I have built a special relationship with Jack, through Challenger and hanging out with him outside of it. Through this event, I am bringing together two very important things to me, soccer and helping others. I am also hoping Every Kick Counts will continue to have a lasting impact on my community.
Our mission is to build bonds, foster friendships, and celebrate inclusion — one kick at a time.
We started Every Kick Counts to create a unique space where young athletes with disabilities can enjoy a new sport, fostering connections with volunteers and friends in a supportive environment.
We envision a future where sports serve as a bridge for all individuals to unite, learn, and uplift one another in a vibrant community setting.
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed; we have received much media recognition for our work in promoting inclusion (view our media coverage).
